As I went about this week pondering the interview of a friend and entrepreneur, I found it to be quite the enlightening week. It was good to see the success that a husband and wife team can have as they pursue their dreams of having a successful business, and in my opinion, are seeing that dream come true. Starting a business is not for everyone. Sometimes, it may seem like it is for no one, but we persevere and work to come out on top. Being able to come out on top is a great thing, especially when you can do it with your eternal companion. I believe that it can add a level of trust and a bond to a relationship that can otherwise not be attained, yet, if not pursued properly could probably have just as much of an adverse effect. The key is remembering that no matter the outcome, you remember that businesses will come and go, but a family is forever.

This week, one of the things that really stood out to me as I went thought the reading and videos of the course, was the video from Frank Levinson about hiring ethical people. He talks about the type of people who simply want to do good and that they have a desire to help their customers because that is what makes them happy, and a side affect of that is making money. He even talked about how when he first started with his company and was shipping out products, they didn’t even really have a return policy or warranty. They simply accepted all returns, even if they were five years old, because it was right, and he knew that that long ago, they had made some mistakes. So many people are looking for the secret to making the largest amount of sales and bringing in the most money, usually with the least amount of effort. I think that one of the greatest ways to market yourself and bring in money does not fall along the lines of advertising. It falls into the category of ethics. I know t...

Challenges are a huge part of life. Usually, for most people, when they are in the middle of the challenges of life, they find it hard to see the blessings that will come from those challenges. We tend to be people who live in the now. By doing so, we often times miss out on great opportunities to learn. The Lord is kind enough to bless our lives by giving us challenges. Most of the greatest lessons I have learned in my life, were a result of being able to look back at the tough times in my life and see the growth I was able to attain because I had been given a challenge. One of the best things about challenges is, we usually make it through and can out them behind us. Because of this, we are able to always see that even when in the midst of a struggle, there will be good to come our way again. Some challenges we may never truly overcome, and we may wonder why we are tasked with them, but recognizing that all we have, good and bad, is because the Lord loves us may help us to bett...

When I think about the perfect master, I think about the Savior. He dedicated his life to others as well as ensuring that he accomplished all the Father asked of him. We are here on the same earth with many of the same tasks being asked of us. What are we doing to emulate the Savior? To continually work on mastering the tasks of life that we will need to be successful in this journey. We must take a step back from where we are, assess the situation and see what we can do to be more diligent in our living. Waking up each day as though it was on purpose and that we are excited to have been blessed to learn another day. This style of life will not only help us to be happier, but also better in all we do and better servants of the Lord. We must not fall for the claim that we can accomplish hard things with minimal work, or with minimal sacrifice. All good things come to those who work for it. When we put aside the worlds view of instant gratification and recognize that hard ...
