This week we learned about the importance of recognizing our
fears and finding ways to overcome or prepare for those things we fear. Fear is
the opposite for faith. The Lord never seeks to instill fear intro our souls
and simply wants us to find ways to overcome. Satan wants us to fear many
things, for when we fear, we give him a little bit of power. When we recognize
that there truly is nothing to fear in life because, God’s will shall be done,
it gives us a type of freedom we can not other wise attain. Through the Lord,
we can live without fear.
1. If you pursue your calling with discipline,
intentionality, and the help of fellow travelers,
what are the chances that your worst-case scenario will
really happen?
The likelihood of experiencing our worst case0scenarios in
life, when we live in a manner that we should, becomes very minute. We do need
to have times of struggle in our lives, but the Lord recognizes our true
efforts and will, at times, reward of accordingly.
2. As you look at your list of fears, what themes emerge?
What is at the core of what you
really fear? Financial ruin? The judgment or disapproval of
others? Physical harm?
Endangering the ones you love? Embarrassment?
The core of moat fears, that I see, is a lack of faith.
Faith in ourselves as a child of God. We are taught it from a young age, but I
do not think we truly understand what it means. As a father myself, I know that
I would do anything to help my kids when possible. I feel that the Lord would do
the same. If people could understand that, fear would flee.
3. What is the risk of taking no action – not following your
calling? How do you plan to
deal with fear when it pops up on your entrepreneurial
journey?
If we do not take action and follow the calling that has
been given us, we will fall to the same fate as the servant that hid his
talents instead of seeking to multiply them. We will not only lose the blessing
that would have been afforded us for that calling, but likely more blessing
that would have come in the future.
